Meet Mrs. Wiltraut

Hello! My name is Mrs. Justine Wiltraut. This year marks my seventh year teaching. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Millersville University in early childhood education and special education and a Master’s Degree from Wilkes University in instructional technology. I spent my first four years teaching at Nye Elementary (one year in fifth grade, then three years in special education) and came to East Hanover in fall 2021. I absolutely love teaching fifth grade; it is my favorite! Coming to East felt like returning home. My husband, Mike, and I both attended elementary school here back in the early 2000s. In 2016, we bought our home in East Hanover and now we love living here with our two children and two rescue mutts. Similar to my students at school, I love watching Troy and Evelyn grow and learn each day!
As an educator, I strive for my classroom to be a safe and comfortable space for all of my students. Building relationships with my students is very important to me. I want all students to feel confident, accepted, and encouraged to participate, voice their thoughts, and give their best effort. I believe that if we stick together, work as a team, and show each other kindness, we can all be our best learners and best selves, academically, socially, and behaviorally. As fifth graders, I also expect my students to hold a level of independence and rise to the responsibilities of being the leaders of East Hanover. While this may look different for each child, we all have strengths we can use to support each other and be good role models for our younger students at East.
